Sustainability Engineer Intern
Vector Green Singapore

Vector Green is a Singapore-based energy intelligence company helping facilities cut energy waste through smart metering, IoT analytics, and green engineering. My internship has two main threads: leading the productisation of VG's solution suite to make it more marketable, and embedding myself in live project execution to understand how engineering projects are delivered on the ground.

Origination & Growth
Productisation
  • Conceived and built a multi-page customer-facing e-catalogue incorporating the full VSuite product range
  • Created market-segment brochures, animated app visualisations, and a product demo website
  • Studied client quotations to develop pricing scenarios for VGCore IoT solutions
  • Final deliverable: presentation deck, live demo, and segment brochures for sales use
  • Learnt to work with Claude AI for the creation of the e-catalogue
Singapore Green Building Seminar
  • Attended to gain industry exposure in Singapore's green building ecosystem
  • Topics: construction circularity, green concrete materials, solar stewardship lifecycle
  • VG's partnership with EtaVolt: assess–intervene–decommission–recover
IUMS — IoT Project Execution
CAG T5 Dormitory
  • Onboarded and configured 3,120 power meters across multiple plots (A–F) and kitchen areas on Tuya
  • Labelled and configured 450 water meter MIUs
  • Compiled progress claims and maintained master installation lists
HSBC project (execution & on-site management)
  • Co-ordinated with ZealCorps and Manha M&E sub-contractors on site surveys, hardware testing, and gateway configuration
  • Sites: Singapore Land Tower and MBFC Tower 2, over multiple weekends
  • Stood in for a colleague; gained direct experience managing the critical path of a live installation
  • Authored risk assessments covering all IoT installation work activities
JTC NEA building
  • Onboarded and configured water meter MIUs for the JTC NEA building water meter project
Solar — Project Execution (exposure)
PVSyst & SketchUp
  • Observed how SketchUp models are built and linked to PVSyst for solar yield simulation — location, orientation, tilt angle
Miscellaneous (exposure)
Client scouting
  • Identified buildings without solar installations as potential leads for VG's solar solutions
  • Conducted ground-level scouting as part of the SGBC seminar follow-up
Warehouse closure
  • Observed the head of project execution's decision to close VG's warehouse, which had accumulated hardware and materials from old projects
  • Gained insight into operational decision-making: managing inventory, space costs, and legacy project closeout
NEA General Waste Collector licence
  • Researched the licensing pathway for VG to obtain a NEA General Waste Collector licence (Class B.1) for Used Cooking Oil collection
  • Documented application steps, WSQ training requirements, costs, and compliance obligations as a reference for the team
